REBAR ANNOUNCES LEADERSHIP TRANSITION AND NEW PARTNERS
Rebar announced today that Partner, Tom Dickey has been appointed President and Chief Executive Officer. Founding partner and previous CEO, Shelby Bowen, has transitioned into a strategic advisory role for the company. This leadership transition is the culmination of a succession plan put into place when Dickey joined the firm in January 2024.
“Shelby had shared early on his intention to eventually step back from day-to-day operations – a goal I respected and fully supported,” said Dickey. “I’m proud that we’re executing on that plan together and am happy for my good friend.”
Bowen co-founded Rebar Development with Jerry Ewing in 2017, steering the company through years of impactful growth. Under his leadership, Rebar delivered more than $300 million in public-private partnership developments across central Indiana, establishing itself as a trusted partner. Notable recent projects include:
District South – a $32 million mixed-use development in downtown Fishers
McCord Square – a $50 million master development in McCordsville
Union Station Lofts – a $20 million mixed-use project currently under construction in Warsaw
Ambrose on Main – a $27 million project in Westfield being co-developed with Hudson Investing
“I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished at Rebar since 2017 and the impact our projects have had in communities across Indiana,” said Bowen. “It’s been very rewarding to work alongside such a talented team. With Tom stepping into the CEO role, I’m confident the company is poised for even greater success.”
Bowen’s next chapter includes consulting and joining the Board of Directors at First Farmers Bank & Trust, among other entrepreneurial pursuits.
In addition to the leadership transition, Rebar announced the addition of two new partners:
Mark Branaman, a seasoned active adult development executive, has joined Rebar as Senior Vice President, Development.
Garrett Lucas has joined Rebar as Vice President, Development
Branaman and Lucas will lead the development of Rebar’s expanding pipeline of luxury active adult rental communities. Rebar, in partnership with Tegethoff Development and Hageman, is currently developing CityView, a mixed-use, luxury active adult apartment community in downtown Fishers, and will soon break ground on Vallara Finch Creek, a luxury active adult apartment community located adjacent to Pulte’s Del Webb community in Noblesville.
