NINESTAR CONNECT MOVES FORWARD WITH MCCORD SQUARE OFFICE BUILDING

Announced this week, NineStar Connect plans to develop a new building at McCord Square, marking the second project formally announced in the 48-acre Town Center development. Anchored by McCord Square Apartments, additional projects are in the works for the new downtown district.

“McCord Square is the result of more than a decade of planning and represents the future of McCordsville,” said Larry Longman, McCordsville Town Councilman and Redevelopment Commission Liaison. “Having NineStar invest in the new downtown reinforces the Town’s vision and sets a high standard for future development to follow.”

Located at the southeast corner of Mt. Comfort Road and Second Street, the three-story, 34,600 sq.ft. office building will be a second location for NineStar Connect—currently headquartered in Greenfield. With plans to occupy the first floor, NineStar Connect intends to use the space on the second and third floors for public and co-op members’ purposes. Plans include a gathering space, catering kitchen, and potential offices and meeting rooms.

According to the Hancock County Economic Development Corporation, NineStar Connect will locate customer service operations at the building initially with an estimated 15-20 employees expected to work at a 24/7/365 support center. Construction is expected to start in late 2023 with occupancy building in the first quarter of 2025.

“McCord Square is a thoughtfully planned town center development with exciting early momentum,” said Shelby Bowen, President of Rebar Development. “Together, with the Town and our project partners, we look forward to bringing additional investment, jobs, and engaging spaces to the new heart of downtown McCordsville. NineStar Connect’s commitment is a step forward in the transformation.”

Previously announced, McCord Square Apartments is a Rebar Development project and is currently under construction. Consisting of two mixed-use buildings with a total of 206 modern apartment homes, six commercial studios, restaurant, and shared resort-style amenities, the apartments are expected to be complete in summer of 2024.

Plans for future development in the downtown district align closely with the Town Center Development Plan including the creation of community gathering spaces, a new McCordsville Police Station, as well as additional residential and commercial uses.
